Under the terms of the Opinion Polls and Survey Law (Law no. 10/2000, of 21 June) and the ministerial order no. 118/2001, of February 23, ERC is the competent authority to proceed in Portugal with the accreditation of polling companies and to regulate and monitor the carry out and publication of opinion polls and surveys.
The opinion polls deposited with the ERC, are published on ERC’s website within 15 days from the date of deposit, under the terms of Deliberation 1/SOND/2009. All ERC’s work on opinion polls and surveys is a task of the Department of Media Analysis.
