Fátima Resende

Holder of a law degree from the Lisbon Law School.

She holds Master's Degrees in Community and Consumer Defence Law, from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium, and in Consumer Law, from the University of Lisbon’s Law School.

She has also taken a course in “Public Relations and Lobbying”, given by TRACE – Training for Consumer Empowerment in Brussels.

She began performing public functions in January 1986. Over the following years she was deputy Adviser in Ministerial Offices and the Office of the President of the Lisbon City Government.

She served on the staff at the Directorate General of the Consumer, from 1987 onwards.

She was a member of the High Autority for the Media between February 1995 and April 2002.

Between May 2002 and June 2005 she held the role of Chief of Staff of the Social Democrat Party’s Parliamentary Group.

She was Executive Director of the Media Regulatory Body between January 2012 and December 2017.

On December 14th 2017, Mrs. Fátima Resende was appointed Member of the Regulatory Board.
