Raquel Alexandra de Jesus Gil Martins Brízida Castro

Raquel Alexandra Castro was born in Lisbon (1968).

Raquel Alexandra Castro is currently undertaking a Ph.D. in Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and holds a Masters Degree in Legal and Political Sciences granted by the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.

Since 2008 Raquel Alexandra Castro is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, where she courses Constitutional Law , modules I and II.

Since 2007 is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies, where she courses Communication and Information Law in the first cycle of the degree in Communication and Journalism; Journalistic Writing and Journalistic Genres in the first cycle of the degree in Sciences of Communication, Culture and Semiotics and Sociomedia and Political Marketing in the first cycle of the degree in Political Science and International Relations.

In July 2011, Raquel Alexandra Castro was appointed Co-Director of the Post-Graduation in Advanced Studies in Applied Politics of the Faculty of Political Science and International Relation of Lusófona University.

From 2004 to 2006, Raquel Alexandra Castro held the position of Political Editor of SIC television network and SIC Notícias, a cable and satellite 24 hour news broadcaster operated by SIC . From 1992, the year SIC launched until 2006, Raquel Alexandra Castro made her broadcasting career at SIC’s Political Editorial Unit.

Previously, Raquel Alexandra Castro was a Journalist at Radio Renascença (1989-1992), at Radio Comercial (1987-1988) and founder of Radio Mais, in Amadora (1985).

She was also a Journalist at Correio da Manhã daily newspaper (1987-1989), at Semanário newspaper (1987-1989) and at the weekly newspaper O Jornal (1988-1989).

On November 9th 2011, Raquel Alexandra Brízida Castro was appointed Member of the Regulatory Board.
